Dr. Marilyn Kenndy
DCC, MA, LPC
My name is Marilyn Kennedy, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in the counseling field for over 30 years. I graduated from Lander University in 1993 with a bachelor’s in psychology and later graduated from Webster University in 2004 with a master’s in counseling. I now hold a Doctorate in Christian Counseling, obtained in 2024 from the School of the Great Commission located in Orangeburg, South Carolina. I’ve worked with various populations and have a diverse background including working with people with trauma, crisis, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and relationship problems.

I’m passionate about counseling and I’m a very genuine person. I like a positive and holistic approach to therapy. I think it is important to find balance in your life and it starts with improving self-esteem and good self-care. I like a person-centered approach meaning you are in charge; you decide on the speed and progress you would like to accomplish as you work to become the best version of yourself.

My clients typically tell me how much better they feel after one session of rapport building initially and being able to tell your story! I believe in a trust-based relationship. Mostly, clients tell me they feel like they have chatted with a friend but realize there has been growth in the conversation. To me, that is the way it should be.
